In Germany, two companies, Rheinmetall and Krupp, developed a multi-turret tank called the "Neubaufahrzeug".
Five vehicles were built. Rheinmetall initially built two vehicles, then Krupp produced three more.
The two Rheinmetall vehicles were built in 1934 and used in the tank troop schools until 1940.
The Krupp vehicles were used against Norway during Operation Weserübing in 1940.
The main turret was equipped with a 7.5cm KwK and a 3.7cm KwK, as well as a MG13 7.92mm machine gun.
The front and rear secondary turrets were also fitted with 7.92mm machine guns.
Although great hopes were placed in these tanks, they did not fit the concept of Blitzkrieg, which required a high degree of mobility.
However, their intimidating appearance did good propaganda for the German army.
The Dragon model kit is based on the second vehicle manufactured by Rheinmetall and used in the Panzertruppenschule.
The unique shape of the new build vehicle with its three distinctive turrets is faithfully reproduced, with the shape of each turret being accurately represented.
