The J version was the final production variant and was armed with a 75mm L/48 cannon and featured a simplified design.
An additional fuel tank replaced the auxiliary engine, nearly doubling the tank's range to 200 miles (320 km) by road and further increasing the Panzer IV's effectiveness.
