The Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther" was certainly one of the most famous tanks of the Second World War.
It was created as a direct response to the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks, which were far superior in power and armament to the Panzer III and Panzer IV on the Eastern Front.
It was powered by a V-12 Maybach engine with 700 hp and was equipped with an extremely effective 7.5 cm KwK 42 gun.
Thanks to a solid design that optimised protection, mobility, speed and armament, the Panther could be considered one of the best tanks of the Second World War and was used on all major fronts from Italy to France and the Eastern Front.
