The Panzerselbstfahrlafette IV b Ausf. A (Sd.Kfz. 165/1) or as a gun carriage IV b for 10.5 cm le.F.H. 18/1 (Sf.), was an artillery self-propelled gun with an open-topped and rotating gun turret.
After the 10 pre-production vehicles were completed, some of them were assigned to the field test battery of the 16th Artillery Regiment at the end of 1942.
Six vehicles were deployed to form a single battery.
The remaining four vehicles and the prototypes remained behind and served as training and replacement vehicles.
The program was discontinued in favor of the "Hummel".
