Developed at the end of the 1950s and produced in over 3000 units from 1963 to 1971, the FV432 Armoured Personnel Carrier forms the basis of an entire family of vehicles. These include armoured medical vehicles, armoured command posts, armoured recovery vehicles and self-propelled howitzers.
Well over 1000 vehicles are still in use by the British Army and will probably remain so for the next few years.
The standard version of the APC is currently the modernised Mk.3 Bulldog.
