Towards the end of WWII, Britain developed a huge monster weighing up to 79 tons - the British A39 Tortoise heavy assault tank to attack German fortifications.
It featured a casemate superstructure and extremely thick armor.
The heavy hull was supported by a torsion bar suspension system.
Its incredibly powerful 94 mm gun could successfully engage any ground target.
The tank had an additional fully rotating turret to increase firepower, while a 7.92 mm machine gun was used at the front to fire on infantrymen.
As the tank was still in the experimental phase when the project was canceled after the war, only 6 vehicles were produced.
