The vast majority of M10s were the M10 IIC variant, based on the late-produced M10 with a distinctive enlarged turret rear counterweight.
Around 1000 were produced between the spring of 1944 and the end of the Second World War and were used extensively by the Allies after the Normandy landings as they could shoot through the Tiger I's frontal armour.
