This special command tank with long-range radios was developed based on a standard Panzer III Ausf.H, the first Panzer III version to be equipped with a 5 cm KwK-L/42 cannon.
At the Pz.Bef.Wg. There was no 5 cm gun installed, but only a single MG34 for self-defense and a dummy weapon to deceive the enemy.
