One of Germany's last desperate attempts in World War II was the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944.
The Battle of the Bulge aimed to divide the British and American forces and advance to Antwerp.
Panzer Brigade 150, under the command of Otto Skorzeny, played a key role in this plan.
This formation was designed to create surprise and confusion with visually modified armored vehicles.
His force included several Panther Ausf. Gs, which were visually camouflaged and painted to resemble the US Army's M10 tank destroyers.
The modifications included the removal of the Panther cupola and the stowage compartments at the rear of the hull.
Sheet metal on the hull front, turret, and turret overhang were fabricated to conceal the Panther's shape. The transformation was completed with an olive-drab paint job and the Allied stars painted on the turret and nose. This handful of vehicles was designated "Replacement M10."
