The Hotchkiss H39 was a French tank from the late 1930s. It was equipped with a 3.7 cm L/33 cannon and its engine produced 120 hp (88.3 kW). During the French campaign, many of these tanks were captured undamaged, modified and taken over into the Wehrmacht. Some were equipped with 28 cm projectile 40 launchers and served as mobile artillery in Normandy.
