The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus is a super-heavy tank developed in Germany during World War II. It is armed with a 128mm KwK44-L55 gun and a coaxial 75mm KWK L36.5 auxiliary gun, and all vehicles are fitted with 240-60mm armor. The ultra-heavy mouse tank propulsion system is an experimental electric propulsion system, but compared to the weight of 188 tons, its speed can reach 18 kilometers per hour.
Only two prototypes of the Maus tank were produced during World War II and used by the German military for a variety of tests, but not in combat. At the end of the war, the Soviets confiscated the tanks, but the two prototypes suffered varying degrees of destruction by the Germans. so that later turret number two had to be mounted on the chassis of the first vehicle. This tank went to the Soviet Union. After the Maus was tested, in 1952 it went to the Kubinka Tank Museum for permanent exhibition.
