The Jagdtiger was equipped with a long-barreled 12.8 cm gun.
Based on the chassis of the King Tiger, it was about 30 cm longer than the latter.
It received a casemate superstructure with 250 mm thick frontal armor, which was unique for this vehicle.
The Jagdtiger first appeared in the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 and from January 1945 fought mainly against Allied forces in West Germany.
By the end of the war, the Jagdtiger threatened Allied forces from a distance of 3000 m or more.
