The Panzer I F was the last tank in the series.
It was converted into an infantry support tank.
The tank's armor was increased to a maximum of 80 mm. Since the weight increased from 5.5 tons to over 20 tons, it received new suspension, chains and gears
Powered by a 150 hp Maybach gasoline engine, the F version only achieved a top speed of 24 km/h.
Since it was an early model, it was only armed with two 7.92 m MG-34 machine guns.
The first production series consisted of only 30 vehicles and was completed in 1940.
However, the second round of orders for 100 tanks was canceled.
Eight of these tanks were given to the 1st Panzer Division in 1943 for use in the Battle of Kursk.
However, the rest was transferred to different training sessions.
Because it was so small that it could only accommodate two crew members, its tactical use and mobility were limited.
