The armor of the front hull bow was reinforced to 57 mm, and the gun mantlet also received 20 mm thick spacer armor, which increased the weight of the tank by 200 kg.
To cope with the additional weight, the chassis was also strengthened.
The drive was a Maybach HL120TRM, a water-cooled V-12 engine with 300 hp.
