It was built on the excellent chassis of the medium tank Panther, on which the deadly long-barreled 8.8 cm Pak 43/3 anti-tank gun was installed in a fixed casemate, capable of penetrating the armor of all types of Allied and Soviet tanks and armored vehicles.
The Jagdpanther offered a good level of protection thanks to the angled front armor to better withstand direct enemy hits.
Despite the small number produced, it was used in Normandy, the Ardennes and on the Eastern Front until the end of the war.
The crew consisted of five men and there was enough space in the fighting compartment of the casemate to load 57 rounds for the 8.8 cm gun.
Due to its characteristics, it was extremely effective and was greatly feared by enemy tank crews.
