The Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) (Sd.Kfz. 167) was a German assault gun variant of the Panzer IV that saw service in the second half of World War II. It was identical in function and concept to the highly successful StuG III on the Panzer III chassis. Both StuG models were used almost exclusively as tank destroyers in the last two years of the war.
