After testing was completed in 1940 and early 1941, the Bedford QLs were issued to army corps, regiments and other units.
Throughout the war, the Bedford QL was used on various fronts and proved to be a highly effective support vehicle, performing both logistical and transport tasks, due to its four-wheel drive and relatively light weight, which further increased its loading capacity.
Thanks to its flexibility and robustness, it was also used to tow and transport artillery pieces such as the 6-pounder anti-tank gun and the 40 mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun.
Equipped with a 72 hp 6-cylinder gasoline engine, it was also characterized by its ease of maintenance and repair, an important feature on the battlefield.
