AB 41 with Bersaglieri Italian Infantry

The AB series armoured cars were developed by Fiat-Ansaldo and used by the reconnaissance units of the Italian “Regio Esercito”.
After the introduction of the first version, the AB-40, the AB-41 was built, which had a more powerful engine and was armed with the 20mm Breda 20/65 cannon.
In addition, 8 mm Breda Mod. 38 coaxial machine gun was installed in the turret.
From a technical point of view, the AB 41 armored car had four-wheel drive, two driver's seats - one in the front and one in the back.
Its speed of 70 km/h and its reliability both on and off-road made it a valued companion on routine and demanding reconnaissance missions.
Vehicle protection was ensured by riveted plate armour.
The AB-41 was used extensively by the Regio Esercito on the North African front, and in fact it was also used by Italian and German units on all the main fronts of World War II after 1943
