By the 1960s, these "old warriors" began to wear out and even more trucks of this class were needed, so another Dodge product, the Power Wagon, was brought in to replace them.
Some civilian Power Wagon WM300s with closed cabs had been in use for a while, mainly captured from Egypt, but the Power Wagon now delivered was the WM300 with a soft top.
This was a cheap, simple export model, similar to the M601, that was offered to friendly countries under the Military Defense Assistance Program.
Starting in 1966, the trucks came to Israel as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units and were assembled and completed at the new AIL (Automotive Industries Ltd.) factory in Nazareth with Israeli-made parts.
The very early cargo body was based closely on the old World War II WC51 design, but was soon replaced by a new Israeli design that was far more practical, cheaper and easier to build and also featured in its successor, the Nun Nun M325. has been used.
The first combat use of the IDF's new Power Wagon (or Command Car, as it was called) was in the 1967 Six-Day War, but it was not until the 1973 Yom Kippur War that it became widely known.
There were also some foreign users such as Uganda, Kenya and the South Lebanese Army.
These sturdy and reliable trucks were very popular with the troops for a variety of missions, even though the vehicle was very spartan and uncomfortable to drive.
The model represents the standard version of the truck with a winch.
