The Indian Scout is a motorcycle built by the Indian Motocycle Company from 1920 to 1949. The 741B was Indian's most common motorcycle built for military use in World War II and was based on the civilian Thirty-Fifty design. Motorcycles were used primarily by British and Commonwealth forces and the company sold more than 30,000 units of this motorcycle. The 640-B, a military version of the Sport Scout, was tested by the U.S. Army and used in the United States but not shipped abroad. Approximately 2,500 were produced.
