Sd Kfz 305/ 22 Funkwagen Opel Blitz Radio Truck

The Opel Blitz was the most important truck for the German armed forces during World War II.
It was used in large numbers on all fronts and was therefore considered the "workhorse" of the Wehrmacht.
Thanks to the sturdy frame, the robust system of rigid axles with leaf springs and the twin wheels at the rear, the Opel Blitz could carry a payload of over 3 tons.
The 3,600cc engine was easy to maintain and produced 75 horsepower.
The most common version was the 4x2 with rear wheel drive.
However, there was also a 4x4 version that was used in Russia as well as in the North African desert.
Thanks to its flexibility and large rear cargo area, the Opel Blitz was also used in other functions, including as a mobile command post with radio communication for command ground troops.
