Thanks to its characteristics, the HEMTT is able to guarantee great off-road mobility and high transport performance.
It has become a real "workhorse" of the Army, capable of transporting ammunition and equipment in a very effective way.
In many conflicts, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, the HEMTT has been modified by the field workshops according to the specific requirements of the crews in order to remain mission-ready in the difficult operational environments.
Some additional armor plates and defensive weapons were added.
