VBCI (Véhicule Blindé de Combat d’Infanterie) ISAF

The VBCI (Véhicule Blindé de Combat d'Infanterie - English: Armored Infantry Fighting Vehicle) ensures the transport, protection and support of the infantry combat groups and their command assets.
The VBCI, which has been deployed in Afghanistan since April 2010, is characterized by special equipment, including anti-RPG protective nets against rocket-propelled grenades and a mine protection housing underneath the chassis.
In June 2012, 400 of the 630 VBCI were delivered in the VCI (Véhicule de Combat d'Infanterie - English: armored personnel carrier) and VPC (Véhicule Poste de Commandement - English: mobile command post) versions.
