Production of the M4A3E8 versions began at the end of 1944.
The M4A3E8, nicknamed the "Easy Eight", received several improvements that enhanced the tank's effectiveness.
The vehicle was equipped with the 76mm M1 high velocity gun and a new horizontal suspension system (HVSS), which ensured smoother driving stability and higher speed.
The "Easy Eight" took an active part in the final phase of the Second World War and in the Korean War alongside the M26 Pershing and the M46 Patton
