The Cavalry Fighting Vehicle (CFV) M3 Bradley is closely related to the more common Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) M2 Bradley.
The differences between M2 and M3 are subtle.
For example, the M3 CFV has no firing ports in the rear hull, but also has more spare TOW rockets and other ammunition.
Their role is also completely different: Armored cavalry units use them for scouting and reconnaissance tasks.
After the Gulf War 191, the CFV was converted into the M3A2 ODS.
This "Operation Desert Storm" variant featured a laser range finder, a tactical navigation system, a driver thermal imaging camera, a missile defense device and a Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below system.
