The Russian T-90 main battle tank was developed in 1989 by the design bureau of the "Uralwagonsawod" company in Nizhny Tagil, Soviet Union, as a further development of the T-72 (T-72BU).
It is armed with a 125 mm smoothbore gun 2A46M. The tank protection is ensured by the use of explosive reactive armor and the modern optical and electronic countermeasures complex "Shtora-1".
