The T-70 was developed in the USSR in 1942/43 as a successor to the T-60 tank and was built in large numbers (over 8000 vehicles).
It was armed with a 45mm L/46 Model 38 cannon with 45 rounds and a coaxial 7.62mm DT machine gun. The tank was operated by a crew of two, a driver and a commander who loaded and fired the cannon.
The T-70 remained in service with the Red Army throughout World War II.
