Vintage Classic: LCM-3 & Mk.II Sherman

The Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) Mk.III was the most widely used landing craft during World War II.
Over 8600 of these were built in shipyards in the USA.
They were used by both the US Navy and the Royal Navy.
The LCM Mk.III was used extensively in operations in Europe and the Pacific from 1942.
Many hundreds took part in the “D-Day” landings in Normandy in June 1944.
The Sherman M4A2 tank was the most famous of all American medium tanks and was developed in 1941 as an improvement on the earlier M3 Lee and Grant.
After initial production in 1942, large numbers of Shermans were delivered to the British Army.
