This is an all-new tooling of the all-new Type 10 tank, a fourth-generation MBT that the Japan Ground Self Defense Force adopted as its new main battle tank in 2010. With its 120mm smoothbore cannon, it packs the same wallop as the previous Type 90 MBT, but in a smaller, lighter, and higher-tech package.
The kit features excellent detail, with four-piece injection-molded tracks (with optional individual street-use pads!), intricate running gear, and markings for multiple versions. Thanks to slide-mold technology, the main gun and even the turret-mounted .50 cal gun have open muzzles.
