The T-54 / T-55 medium battle tank series was developed by the Soviet Union shortly after the end of World War II.
The T-55 retained some of the key features of the World War II T-34, which was simple in design, effective, economical to manufacture, and easy to repair on the battlefield.
Due to the characteristics of the T-55, it was accepted into service not only by the Warsaw Pact, but also by some African and Asian countries.
