The Steyr 1500 A was developed by the new Austrian automobile group Steyr-Daimler-Puch as a light truck for troop transport.
12,450 units were produced from 1941 to 1944.
The first version A/01 had an open body, commonly known as a bucket, the second version A/02 differed only in minor details.
The derived commander's car had an elegant four-door body with luxurious interior.
The Steyr 1500 was used primarily as a troop transporter in all theaters of war in World War II.
