Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger I Ausf. E 1:56

The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I is certainly one of the most famous tanks of World War II. It was designed to provide the Wehrmacht's Panzer divisions with a heavily armored and heavily armed tank, and to complement the most popular Panzer III and Panzer IV medium tanks, which were no longer able to effectively fight the enemy tanks. The main armament was the famous and deadly 88 mm long KwK 36 L/56 anti-tank gun. Installed in the turret and protected by a heavy 120 mm shield, it was able to penetrate the armor of any enemy vehicle of the time, even at long distances. It was used in all major theaters of operations and took an active part in the German military operations in Normandy and on the Western Front. Although the heavy tank struggled with problems of reliability and use, in the hands of experienced crews it was always greatly feared by the Allied forces.
