The first prototype took off in 1937 as the MB-150. After modifications, it was designated MB-151 and was powered by a Gnome-Rhône 14N-11 engine with an output of 870 hp, driving a three-bladed Ratier propeller.
The machine was armed with four MAC 1934 machine guns.
This machine took off for the first time in August 1938 and it too was found to have many defects.
In October 1938, the prototype of the new series was completed - MB-152.
It was armed with two HS 404 cannons in the wing.
It was powered by a 1030 hp Gnome-Rhône 14N-21 engine.
