The father as a role model
Ever since the early 1960s, the founder Mr. Tserng Miin-Horng († 2021) had been a big fan of model making. He was inspired by his father whose models he was allowed to look at but not touch. Mr. Tserng later worked in a commercial profession and served in the Army.
In addition to model building he devoted much of his time researching and preserving Taiwan's military heritage and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and collections with his fellow countrymen.
A good start
In 1990 he opened a model building company Hobby Fan Trading Co. Ltd. Under this trademark he initially sold conversion kits in which kits from other manufacturers were enhanced with parts produced by him.
These special conversions were unique and very popular at this time. They were sold very successfully. After a short time the first own injection molded models could be produced under the name AFV Club in cooperation with a CAD designer.
A little later the production of high-quality resin complete models, resin conversion kits and figures was started under the associated Hobby Fan brand.
Always true to the philosophy
The company is located with all departments under one roof: from CAD design, 3D printing, injection molding to manufacturing by hand (scratchbuilding).
AFV Club's philosophy has always been to develop the best possible injection molded model kits to minimize the need for aftermarket parts. According to this AFV Club has always put more time and money into the tooling and molds to achieve finer details than is commonly found in the model industry.
Accurate - detailed - comprehensive
Around 1000 kits now comprise the impressive portfolio of this company. You can get complete injection molded kits from the AFV Club brand in 1/35th scale (military modern and WW2) as well as ships in 1/700, 1/350 and 1/144 scale.
They also offer an extensive line of injection molded accessories such as tracks and ammunition for military vehicles or parts for diorama construction.
AFV Club's top priority is and always will be to produce model kits of the best, most accurate quality to ensure realistic depiction of historical scenes in great detail.
