The Ford GAA engine was an American V8 internal combustion engine produced by Ford during World War II.
It was equipped with two Stromberg carburettors, two magnetos and two spark plugs forming a complete dual ignition system, and a cross-flow intake.
It had a displacement of 18 l and a torque of over 1400 Nm from idle speed to 2200 rpm.
The factory stated net power was 500 hp at 2600 rpm.
The GAA powered several models and variants of the M4A3 Sherman medium tank.
