Air Defense System (Iron Dome)

The Iron Dome System is a mobile all-weather anti-aircraft missile system. which was developed in Israel.
It is designed to intercept and destroy short-range missiles and artillery shells fired from ranges of 4 to 70 kilometers.
The system has been in use with the IDF since 2011.

The United States has procured two Iron Dome batteries to date.
These are to be used to protect US forces in hostile theaters of operations.
In November 2020, Iron Dome was tested at Fort Bliss, Texas to see if it was compatible with the army's missile defense network.
