Weighing 11.53 tons, it was originally designed to tow artillery pieces such as the 8.8 cm Flak or the 15 cm Howitzer sFH 18.
The 8.8cm Flak 18/36/37/41 was a German anti-aircraft gun developed in the 1930s.
It was one of the most prominent German weapons during World War II and was used on all fronts.
The Flak was mounted on a cruciform carriage.
An easy-to-use semi-automatic loading system ejected fired shells and allowed reloading by simply feeding a new shell. This resulted in firing rates of 15 to 20 rounds per minute.
High-explosive and armor-piercing ammunition could also be used for anti-tank defense
