The Panther Ausf. G was an improved version of the Panther Ausf. D and Ausf. A, was a German main battle tank in late World War II.
The 45.5 ton Panther Ausf. G was introduced in March 1944.
It had improved protection in key areas.
Both the weight of the entire vehicle and the production time required were reduced.
In the final stages of the war, some Panther Ausf. G were fitted with armour plates on the top of the turret and engine air intake to improve passive air defence capabilities and to resist the growing threats from the air
