The "Char léger modèle 1935 H" was a French cavalry tank.
From 1938, an improved version with a more powerful engine was produced, the Char léger modèle 1935 H modifié 39, which was also equipped with a longer, more powerful 37mm gun from 1940.
After the defeat of France in June 1940, Germany and its allies used captured Hotchkiss tanks in various configurations and conversions.
